Theme park incident: Selangor govt waiting on probe findings, says Amirudin


SEPANG: The state government is still waiting for a technical report on the incident involving a roller coaster at Sunway Lagoon on Saturday that injured 10 visitors.

Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said his party is waiting for a technical report from the police and will conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.

"I am waiting for a technical report from the police and they will conduct a thorough investigation into the incident because it has been taken up as a duty for the police to take action," he said.

He said this when met by reporters after attending the 2026 Haji Muassasah Incentive Donation Presentation Ceremony for the Dengkil state constituency at Putra Perdana Community Hall, Puchong.

In the incident that occurred at about 9pm on Aug 22, the roller coaster reportedly carried 22 passengers, consisting of local visitors and foreign tourists.

The incident caused 10 visitors to suffer injuries and have sought treatment at several medical facilities in Subang Jaya and the surrounding areas, while no deaths were reported.- Bernama
