Couple, infant die in crash with car on Jalan Klang Banting


PETALING JAYA: Three persons, including a year-old girl, died when the motorcycle they were on was hit by a car at KM53, Jalan Klang Banting.

Kuala Langat OCPD Supt Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi said the incident on Saturday (May 24) occurred at 1pm when an SUV driven by a woman in her 30s heading from Sepang towards Banting entered the opposite lane.

"The vehicle collided with the victims’ motorcycle, with the man’s wife and child riding pillion.

"The collision resulted in the couple and their daughter being thrown onto the road," Sinar Harian quoted Supt Mohd Akmalrizal as saying on Sunday (May 25).

According to him, all three victims suffered serious head injuries and were confirmed dead at the scene by the assistant medical officer at Banting Hospital.

He said the couple were in their 20s while the child was a year old.

The bodies of the victims were sent to the Banting Hospital for post-mortem.

The case is being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
