Aminuddin urges change in PKR election result timing

JOHOR BARU: The official announcement of PKR party election result should not be made on Friday (May 23) night, says its vice president, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

The Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar added that the announcement should instead be made on Saturday morning (May 24), as many leaders have since left the congress after learning the result.

“I was with former deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli last night, where he wanted to leave immediately after the result was announced.

“He did not eat anything, and I invited him for dinner before leaving for Kuala Lumpur. After dinner, he left and safely arrived at his destination,” he added.

Aminuddin said this in his winding-up address during the PKR national congress held at the Persada International Convention Centre here on Saturday.

He added that he was certain that PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would carry out his duty well, including reaching out to those who were hurt by the party election.

Aminuddin also urged the Prime Minister to investigate issues affecting the people, especially traders and small businesses, such as the e-invoice and gas and petrol subsidies.

“I am sure that Anwar has the wisdom in addressing these issues, as we have to be careful with it because the effect will be great when facing the general election,” he said.
