Higher learning institutions may conduct online classes during Asean summit

PUTRAJAYA: Public and private institutions of higher learning are allowed to conduct teaching and learning sessions either online or in person during the 46th Asean Summit from May 26 to 28, says the Higher Education Ministry on Thursday (May 22).

It said this in response to road closures and heightened security measures throughout the summit period in the Klang Valley, including Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya.

"All institutions are advised to check the location, timing and duration of affected routes from May 26-28 to determine the need for online sessions and to minimise disruptions due to traffic congestion," the ministry said in a statement.

It also encouraged students and staff affected by the closures to contact their respective institutions for further information. – Bernama
