Rafizi should continue party tradition to open wings’ congress, says Fuziah

PETALING JAYA: PKR is hoping for party deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli to reconsider his decision not to officiate the party’s Youth and Wanita national congress scheduled to be held later this week.

According to Sinar Harian, party secretary-general Fuziah Salleh (pic) said Rafizi’s presence is important to preserve existing party practices.

“I hope he can continue this tradition where both the youth and women wings are officiated by the party deputy president,” she was reported as saying.

This comes following reports revealing that Rafizi had sent a letter to party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim declining to attend the party’s launching ceremony on May 22 in Johor Bahru.

It was also reported that incumbent youth wing chief Adam Adli confirmed the matter, saying he had also received a copy of the letter from Rafizi.

The formal letter, allegedly by Rafizi, stated, "Regretfully, I wish to inform you that I do not intend to accept this invitation."

The Youth and Wanita National congress will take place on May 22 before the main PKR national congress. The central PKR elections will take place on May 23.
