Woman dies in fall from Penang mall's multi-storey carpark


GEORGE TOWN: A woman fell to her death from the multi-storey parking structure of a mall here on Saturday (May 3).

Balik Pulau OCPD Asst Comm Sazalee Adam said police were informed of the incident at 12.47pm by the public.

"The victim is believed to have fallen from the seventh floor of the parking structure and left her personal items in her car," he said in a statement on Tuesday (May 6).

ACP Sazalee said witnesses told police the woman had earlier driven towards the loading bay.

It is learnt that the victim left her home at around 9am on Saturday and her last contact with relatives was at noon.

ACP Sazalee said a post-mortem found that death was caused by multiple injuries, consistent with a fall from height, and that the case has been classified as sudden death.
