Salon worker sexually assaulted by teenager in Melaka

MELAKA: A 24-year-old beautician fought off a teenage boy who allegedly sexually attacked her at a salon here by biting his tongue and forcefully pinching his stomach.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit said the incident took place at 9.30am on Wednesday (April 30).

The victim was working at the salon in Taman Bachang Utama when the teenager entered and enquired about spa treatment packages for his girlfriend.

After the victim explained the available services, the suspect suddenly covered her mouth with his hand and forcibly dragged her into a treatment room before sexually assaulting her, ACP Christopher said.

He said that inside the room, the suspect demanded money while gripping both of the victim's hands tightly. The victim attempted to resist, but the suspect continued his attacks and pushed her to the floor.

"While on the ground, the victim defended herself by biting the suspect’s tongue and pinching his stomach with force before screaming, prompting the suspect to flee the premises," he said.

ACP Christopher Patit said the victim immediately contacted her employer and was advised to lock the doors.

However, a few minutes later, she heard the doorbell and discovered the front door had somehow been unlocked.

"The suspect had re-entered (the salon) and again attempted to assault her, but fled once more after she called her employer a second time," he said.

ACP Christopher said the suspect also allegedly stole a necklace belonging to the victim.

The victim lodged a police report on the same day at Batu Berendam police station.

ACP Christopher Patit said police managed to detain a 16-year-old boy from Peringgit Pantai here on Thursday.

"We confiscated various items, including the suspect's motorcycle, which was reported stolen in Banda Hilir here, earlier this year," he added.
