PETALING JAYA: Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari were among the party’s top guns who secured victories at the state PKR division polls.
Rafizi defended his position as the Pandan division chief after securing 883 votes, defeating Shahrom Musa, who received 444 votes in the elections on Saturday.
Amirudin won the Gombak division chief post unopposed.
Rapper Altimet, whose real name is Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad, won the Ampang division chief post, defeating two challengers.
Deputy Entrepreneur Develop-ment and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan won the Sungai Buloh division chief post unopposed, while former Bukit Lanjan assemblyman Elizabeth Wong also won the Damansara division chief post unopposed.
Meanwhile, PKR communications director and Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung lost the Petaling Jaya division chief post to former Kajang assemblyman Hee Loy Sian.
Hee, a former Selangor executive councillor, won with a slim majority of 216 votes.
Kota Anggerik assemblyman Najwan Halimi won the Shah Alam division chief post, defeating Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail and Noryzal Zainal Abidin.
In Melaka, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s senior political secretary Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin won the Hang Tuah Jaya division chief post.
However, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister and incumbent Hang Tuah Jaya MP Adam Adli failed to secure the deputy chief post for Hang Tuah Jaya, receiving only 791 votes against Zamzizul Nordin, who got 1,905 votes.
In Perlis, former Kangar MP Noor Amin Ahmad won the Kangar division chief post by defeating Gan Ay Ling.
Voting for the PKR divisions in Selangor, Melaka, and Perlis was held on Saturday.
The results were announced yesterday.
