Dr Wee congratulates Aaron-Wooi Yik on winning 2025 Badminton Asian Championships

PETALING JAYA: Honouring a victory 18 years in the making, MCA President Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has congratulated doubles shuttlers Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik on winning the 2025 Badminton Asia Championships men’s doubles title.

“They put on an outstanding performance tonight, defeating China’s Chen Boyang and Liu Yi in straight sets.

“This victory ends an 18-year wait for Malaysia to reclaim the men’s doubles crown at the Asian Championships,” he said in a Facebook post on Sunday (April 13) evening after the finals.

Chia-Soh ended their triumphant Asian Championships run by beating world No. 16 pair Chen-Liu 21-19, 21-17 in the final at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium.
