Floods: 137 evacuated, one fatality in Selangor on Friday, says MB


SUBANG JAYA: At least 137 people were affected by the widespread floods in Selangor earlier Friday (April 11), with one fatality recorded, says Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari

The Selangor Mentri Besar said the fatality involved a foreig national who was electrocuted at Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam.

“We have since notified Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) to cut off electricity in the affected areas to prevent any future accidents.

“Victims are also advised to switch off their own individual power supply to their homes if possible until all is safe,” he said at a press conference at the Putra Heights Mosque victim relief centre on Friday (April 11).

Amirudin added that if no further heavy rain or floods are expected, evacuated residents will be allowed to return to their homes by Saturday (April 12).
