Bukit Aman's Internal Security dept seized contraband, other items worth RM4.8bil so far this year

KUALA LUMPUR: Some RM4.8bil in contraband and other items were seized by the Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order (KDNKA) department this year.

Its director Comm Datuk Seri Azmi Abu Kassim said 2,806 individuals were also detained between Jan 1 and April 4.

"We also recorded 3,773 cases during the same period.

"The figures are admirable especially when Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain expressed his satisfaction over such an achievement," he said in his speech during the department's monthly assembly on Tuesday (April 8).

Comm Azmi said the successes have managed to elevate the image of the department.

"However, we must not rest on our laurels and aim to improve further," he added.

He also called on all department officers and personnel to increase their policing knowledge.

"All division heads must also ensure that all operations, arrests and seizures adhere to the laws," he said.
