Woman, 63, dies after car crashes into MPV near Simpang Pulai

IPOH: A 63-year-old woman died after the car she was in collided with a multi-purpose vehicle at Kampung Kepayang near Simpang Pulai on Thursday (April 3).

A Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said they received a distress call at about 12.30pm Thursday.

“The woman was trapped inside the car, while the 40-year-old driver of the MPV escaped unhurt.

“The operations chief carried out a size-up and subsequently applied the SAVER concept by directing team members to carry out rescue operations using hydraulic equipment until the victim was successfully extricated and handed over to the paramedics.

“The victim was confirmed dead by the paramedics, and the body was then handed over to the police for further action,” he added.
