Clear roads across major highways on Hari Raya


PETALING JAYA: Traffic is smooth across major highways nationwide on the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations on Monday (March 31).

According to camera footage uploaded to the Malaysian Highway Authority website, traffic is moving smoothly both northbound and southbound on the North-South Expressway as of 1.20pm.

On the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway, there is a slight crawl eastbound at KM35.3 near Genting Sempah.

Traffic is also building up westbound at the same stretch.

Footage shows congestion eastbound towards the Gombak toll plaza.

Meanwhile, roads are clear along the East Coast Expressway (LPT) 1 and LPT 2, as well as the West Coast Expressway.

As of 12pm earlier on Monday, an accident was reported on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway at KM35.8 westbound from Genting Sempah to Gombak, blocking the left lane.

Another accident was reported at 11.24am on the North-South Expressway.

It occurred at KM283.6 northbound from Bandar Baru Nilai to Putra Makhkota.
