Director of Sabah State Courts Marutin Pagan dies in car accident


SIBU: Director of Sabah State Courts Marutin Pagan perished in an accident involving two cars on Jalan KJD, Kanowit, on Sunday (March 30).

Marutin was also the former Sessions Court judge in Bintulu, Miri, Sri Aman, Limbang, Sibu and Kuching.

On social media, a number of people had expressed their condolences to the family.

A friend of the deceased, Abdullah Siddiq Mohd Nasir was shocked over his sudden demise.

"This evening, I was shocked by the news of the passing of YBrs Tuan Marutin Pagan, Director of the Sabah State Court, who was involved in an accident in Kanowit, Sarawak.

“I have only just met the deceased since his appointment as Director of the Sabah State Court. The deceased was a close acquaintance of many of my friends in the Judicial and Legal services, especially senior officers," said Abdullah Siddiq in his Facebook posting on Sunday.

On Sunday evening, Kanowit police said via Facebook that its traffic enforcement and investigation department was dispatched to the scene following a call from the public. It was joined by another unit from Sibu.
