Mohd Khaidzir Shahari is new Selangor Zakat Board CEO


SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) has appointed Mohd Khaidzir Shahari as its new chief executive officer, effective April 7.

In a statement on Friday (March 28), the board said Mohd Khaidzir will replace Mohd Sabirin Mohd Sarbini, whose three-year term as CEO expires Monday.

"LZS hopes that Mohd Khaidzir's appointment can strengthen its management and work processes, as well as improve corporate governance to remain competitive and provide the best service to the community in Selangor, especially the 'asnaf' group," read the statement.

Mohd Khaidzir has over 25 years of experience in corporate governance, finance, risk management, compliance, internal control and auditing.

He was previously a partner and an executive director at KPMG Malaysia, in addition to leading governance, risk and compliance at KPMG Management & Risk Consulting Sdn Bhd.

Mohd Khaidzir has played key roles in internal control assessment, risk audit and corporate governance structuring and provided advisory and auditing services to various entities, including international companies, public-listed companies, government-linked companies, government-linked investment companies, financial institutions and international agencies.

A Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) graduate from International Islamic University Malaysia, Mohd Khaidzir is a chartered accountant from the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), a certified member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountant, Certified Global Management Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor.

Besides being a member of the Islamic Finance Committee of MIA, he is also the president of the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia. - Bernama
