Man killed in pickup truck-car collision in Port Dickson

PORT DICKSON: A 37-year-old pickup truck driver was killed after his vehicle collided with a car along Jalan Springhill near here.

Port Dickson police chief Supt Maslan Udin said the driver was killed on the spot in the 8.15pm incident on Tuesday (March 25).

He said preliminary investigations showed that the deceased was heading towards Springhill from Lukut when he collided with the car driven by a 28-year-old man coming from the opposite direction.

"The car driver then turned right at a junction and the deceased crashed into his left side.

"Due to the impact, a passenger in the pickup truck sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital while the car driver and his passenger escaped unharmed," he said in a statement.

Supt Maslan urged eyewitnesses to call the nearest police station to assist in investigations.

The case is being probed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
