M'sian mobile users to get 5GB free data on first day of Raya, says Fahmi

PUTRAJAYA: At least 5GB of additional data will be given free to all Malaysians on the first day of Hari Raya, says Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

Fahmi, who is also the government spokesman, said this will cover those under the mobile network operators CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile, TM Tech, YTL Communications, Pavo Comms, Tune Talk, redOne, REDtone and XOX Com.

He said it includes those with postpaid or prepaid Malaysian registered accounts under these operators.

“The additional quota will be automatically credited to user accounts on the first day of Raya.

“This additional data will be valid for at least 24 hours after it is credited, subject to the terms and conditions of each network operator," he said on Wednesday (March 26).

He noted that only Malaysian subscribers are entitled to the additional 5GB, and only for one number under each mobile network operator to which they are subscribed.

This will encompass approximately 45 million Malaysian-registered accounts.

Fahmi said users should contact their respective mobile network operators for more information.
