26,000 Johor healthcare workers to get RM100 duit raya each

ISKANDAR PUTERI: The Johor government will give RM100 in duit raya each to more than 26,000 healthcare workers in the state.

Health and environment committee chairman Ling Tian Soon said this was approved by Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi during the state government council meeting in Kota Iskandar on Wednesday (March 26).

“We have allocated RM2.6mil to be distributed to 26,000 healthcare workers as part of the state government’s way of thanking them.

“Last year, we started with Hari Raya aid for the police and the army, which is still being continued. This year, we have decided to include healthcare workers,” he told reporters after a medical equipment handover ceremony at the Gelang Patah Health Clinic.

Ling added that this is the first time such an initiative is being introduced for healthcare workers and that the payment will be made in early April.

Earlier, Bridge Data Centres handed over RM630,000 worth of medical and non-medical equipment to the clinic as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.
