Niosh board signs graft-free pledge

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) board of directors has reinforced its commitment to integrity and good governance by signing the Corruption-Free Pledge.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by its chairman Chong Chieng Jen at the institute’s headquarters on Thursday (March 20).

Niosh vice chairman Manivanan Gowin noted that as an institution responsible for enhancing occupational safety and health standards in Malaysia, it is committed to ensuring that its administration and operations are conducted with full transparency and accountability.

"This pledge is not merely symbolic, but a declaration that the organisation will not compromise on any form of corruption,” he said in a statement on Friday (March 21).

Manivanan, who is also chairman of the Niosh audit, integrity and governance committee, said the institute would continue to strengthen monitoring and regulatory mechanisms to ensure that decisions made at every management level are based on the principles of integrity and accountability. – Bernama
