Fahmi aims for PKR vice-president role in May polls

PETALING JAYA: PKR information chief Datuk Fahmi Fadzil (pic) is set to contest one of the seven vice-president posts in the party elections in May.

The Communications Minister believes he could contribute more by holding one of the top posts.

“The contest in PKR is like a contest within a family. We will contest in a healthy manner,” said the Lembah Pantai MP.

Fahmi also said he and his team would offer their best, noting that PKR is a forward-looking party.

In the 2022 PKR elections, he also contested the post but lost.

The seven PKR vice-presidents are Nurul Izzah Anwar, Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun. The others are ministers Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Chang Lih Kang, deputy minister Saraswathy Kandasami and former MP Awang Husaini Sahari.

On Saturday, Nurul Izzah announced that she would be defending her vice-president position in the coming party elections.

Amirudin, Aminuddin, Nik Nazmi and Chang have also voiced their intentions to defend their posts.
