KUALA LUMPUR: In an effort to facilitate easier access to government services, the second Sentuhan Madani kiosk has been launched at KL Sentral.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke, who officiated the launch, said the kiosks assemble various government services at Malaysia’s biggest transit hub, supporting the country’s digitisation agenda.
"This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to ensure all layers of society can enjoy easy, swift and efficient access," he said during his speech on Thursday (March 13).
Loke highlighted how the kiosk at KL Sentral is strategically located, benefiting the high volume of passengers traversing the area daily.
"It also provides commuters convenience alongside ensuring important services are easily accessible," he said, noting that more than 220,000 commuters pass through KL Sentral daily.
The minister announced that the next Sentuhan Madani kiosk is set to open at the One Utama Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya.
"As one of the biggest malls nationwide, One Utama is a strategic location as the crowds there can easily access government services," he said.
By placing Sentuhan Madani kiosks in public areas, Loke hopes they will serve as a transformation model towards creating a more people-friendly and digital government service while staying relevant to current needs.
On Jan 9, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim launched the first Sentuhan Madani kiosk at Alamanda shopping mall in Putrajaya, as part of the government’s initiative to facilitate access to its services.
The kiosks assemble more than 100 government services across agencies like the Road Transport Department, Pos Malaysia, Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Employees’ Provident Fund, Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad, and MyDigital ID.
The services offered are similar to those available online and at government departments.
Also present were Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, Transport Ministry secretary-general Datuk Jana Santhiran Muniayan, Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd chairman Datuk Mohamad Nasir Ab Latif, and Pantau Madani unit director-general Mohd Khalid Mohamed Latiff.
