KOTA KINABALU: Excitement filled the air at a hypermarket in Likas as 50 underprivileged children from Sepanggar eagerly picked out new clothes and shoes for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
With RM200 each in hand, the children browsed through racks of baju Melayu and baju kurung, their faces lighting up as they found the perfect outfits yesterday.
Some held up their selections, admiring the colours and designs, while others excitedly sought opinions from friends and volunteers assisting them.
The Raya Shopping programme, part of the Iftar Tour 2025 initiative, was organised by Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Bhd (KTC) in collaboration with Sabah’s Community Development Leadership Unit.
KTC executive director Datuk Dexter Lau said the programme is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiative to support families in need and bring joy to children during the festive season.
“We want these children to experience the excitement of Hari Raya just like any others. Seeing their smiles today is the greatest reward for us,” he said.
