Fire damages flat in Port Klang


PORT KLANG: Residents of a block of flats at Taman Kem were thrown into panic when one of the units caught fire.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar reported that the incident occurred at about 10.30am on Monday (Feb 24) morning.

"The fire occurred at a home on the fourth floor of the block of flats," he said, adding that 30% of the unit was destroyed. The fire also spread to the roof of a neighbouring unit.

The blaze was brought under control by 10.44am by the Port Klang fire station, with assistance from the Andalas, North Klang, and South Klang fire stations.

No casualties were reported in the incident.
