No compromise on actions, statements that threaten national harmony, says Aaron

PETALING JAYA: National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang has emphasised that there will be no compromise regarding any action or statement that threatens the harmony of Malaysian society.

He made this statement in response to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, featuring a photo of a roadside stall selling corn with a sign containing a racial slur, suggesting the corn would not be sold to individuals of a particular race.

"As a multiracial country, we must always take care to maintain wellbeing and peace by not allowing any statements or actions that can offend the feelings of any party. Such actions should be stopped. I call upon everyone to come together to strengthen the spirit of unity in the country by respecting our existing differences and prioritising unity for the sake of everyone," the minister said in his reply.

The post on X was a repost from a Facebook account named "Chandrakumanan Arumugam," who originally uploaded the picture of the roadside stall. He also claimed that the photo was taken in Sepang, Selangor.
