Woman dies after crashing into stone wall, believed to have been chased by husband


PETALING JAYA: A female factory worker who died in an accident at Kampung Pengkalan early Wednesday morning was believed to have had an argument with her husband before being chased by him on another motorcycle.

Alor Gajah District Police Chief, Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah, said investigations revealed that there was information indicating the victim had a dispute with her husband before the incident.

"While on her way home, the victim’s husband followed her from behind, prompting her to speed up in an attempt to escape, but she lost control of her motorcycle and crashed.

"Investigations are still ongoing, and the police will summon the victim’s husband for questioning, as well as identify witnesses," he was quoted by Sinar Harian on Wednesday (Feb 12).

Earlier, the daily reported that the victim died after losing control of her motorcycle and crashing into a stone wall near Datuk Sri Mat Zin Vocational College in Kampung Pengkalan.

The incident, which occurred at around 12.45am, resulted in the death of 27-year-old Nur Erdiyanah Samsul Maarif at the scene due to head injuries.

Ashari added that at the time of the accident, the woman was believed to be on her way home from Melaka Pindah towards Jalan Kasa Height.
