Kelantan mulls new duty-free zone, better tourism activities to compete with Thai border towns

KOTA BARU: The state government is identifying a new duty-free zone in Rantau Panjang in a bid to regain some market share from more appealing Thai border towns.

Rantau Panjang and Pengkalan Kubor have grown quieter as competition from Thai border towns ramps up, said Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Dr Mohamed Fadzli Hassan.
