Continuous rain warning for Sabah, Sarawak


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has warned of continuous rain in several areas in Sarawak until Thursday (Feb 6).

It said in a statement that the areas likely to be affected by continuous heavy rain at a severe level are Sarikei (Sarikei and Meradong), Sibu and Mukah.

A continuous rain warning at an alert level has been issued for several other areas in Sarawak, namely Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit and Selangau), and Bintulu.

Similar weather conditions are expected in the West Coast (Ranau and Kota Belud), Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran, and Sandakan), and Kudat in Sabah on Wednesday. - Bernama
