Reduction of EPF contribution for foreign workers reasonable, says business association

PETALING JAYA: The government's proposal to reduce the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contribution from 12% to 2% for foreign workers is reasonable, says the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ACCIM).

It addresses the high operating costs and the tough business environment.

"ACCIM encourages companies to take advantage of the government's various initiatives, incentives and grants," said the association in a statement on Tuesday (Feb 4).

The association also urged the government to work with the industry stakeholders to support the SMEs through technical assistance, financing and programmes," added ACCIM.
