Bright-red dragon takes to Kuala Lumpur sky

KUALA LUMPUR: A dragon-shaped light show has gone viral for its precision and scale as it glided around the iconic PETRONAS Twin Towers.

The dazzling red dragon, created by a local drone light show company, mesmerised spectators as it wove through the towers during the Chinese New Year celebration in the city centre.

The viral display sparked widespread discussion online, with some questioning its authenticity while others expressed their excitement at witnessing the spectacle.

Instagram user @adiba_shareen said: “If this is real, it’s absolutely fantastic. Happy Chinese New Year to all who are celebrating! The beauty of being Malaysian is having wonderful friends from diverse backgrounds, cultures and religions.”

User @niffira_ jokingly asked, “Who summoned Shen Long?” (referencing the dragon in the Dragon Ball manga series).

Among the attendees who enjoyed the show were Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and other distinguished guests. This was highlighted on the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s official Instagram page.

Another user, @vivianwee, said the show was a good sign. “This is what we call 1Malaysia,” she added.

Reportedly, this was the largest drone show ever held in Malaysia, featuring more than 1,200 drones.

The event, which took place on Saturday, was organised to celebrate 50 years of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations.
