Pahang civil servant remanded over RM10,000 in false claims


KUANTAN: A civil servant has been remanded for six days until Monday (Jan 27) for allegedly submitting false claims amounting to RM10,000 since 2023.

The remand order on the man, in his 40s, was issued by Magistrate Nor Izzati Zakaria here on Wednesday (Jan 22) following an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

According to a source, the man, who is with the state Education Department, was arrested after giving his statement at the Pahang MACC office on Tuesday (Jan 21).

State MACC director Hairuzam Mohd Amin @ Hamim confirmed the arrest and said the case was investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009. – Bernama
