KUALA LUMPUR: Artificial Intelligence is an important tool in security efforts but challenges including ethical issues must be addressed as well, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
In his opening speech at the Asia International Security Summit and Expo 2025 (AISSE2o25) at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), the Home Minister called the technology a “game changer”.

“AI is not just a tool, it is a game changer in security operations. From predictive analytics to advanced surveillance, AI can detect threats faster and with greater precision.
“At the same time, it raises new ethical and governance challenges that we must address together,” he said.
He added that he hoped the expo would serve as a platform to address objectives that aligned with the “Asean vision for resilience and prosperity”.
Among which included building sustainable industries and fostering regional cooperation for information communications technology (ICT) and cybersecurity.
