Storm warning: Thunderstorms, heavy rain expected over five states, one FT until 8pm


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected over five states and the Federal Territory of Labuan until 8pm Friday (Jan 17).

In an advisory issued by the Meteorological Department at 5pm Friday, it said the areas affected include Pahang (Bentong, Bera, Pekan and Rompin), Selangor (Klang and Kuala Langat), and Negri Sembilan (Jelebu and Jempol).

In Sarawak, the areas affected are Miri and Limbang while in Sabah, areas affected include Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort and Keningau) and West Coast (Papar).

Malaysia is currently experiencing the Northeast Monsoon.
