MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms in multiple states until 6pm on Jan 7


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) is warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in several states until 6pm on Tuesday (Jan 7).

In a statement, MetMalaysia said the states affected are Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang); Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya; Negri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah and Rembau) and Melaka (Alor Gajah and Central Melaka).

Over in Sarawak, areas affected are Sibu (Sibu and Selangau); Mukah (Daro, Matu, Dalat and Mukah); Kapit (Kapit); Bintulu and Miri (Subis, Beluru and Miri).

In Sabah, bad weather is expected in the interior (Kuala Penyu and Beaufort), west coast (Papar, Putatan and Penampang) and Kudat.
