No activities involving explosives detected in Machang, say Kelantan cops

PETALING JAYA: Investigations have shown that there were no activities involving explosives in Machang, Kelantan police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat told Malay language daily Sinar Harian.

"The police also found that no fires had been detected,” Comm Yusoff said.

He also advised the public not to make any speculations that could cause distress to the community.

Earlier on Saturday (Dec 7) morning, Comm Yusoff said Kelantan police had come across several social media posts about explosions and strong tremors in Machang, Sinar Harian reported.

One commenter shared that he had heard a loud noise at 1.30am at his home in Kampung Kelaweh.

There were several other posts who also claimed that there were loud noises, but no one was sure about its source.
