Action taken against medical assistant for bullying


IPOH: A medical assistant has been reprimanded for bullying a doctor at Gerik Hospital.

Perak health director Dr Feisul Idzwan Mustapha said the person in question was issued a letter reprimanding him on July 31, following an internal investigation on the matter.

“The internal investigation committee was set up on June 4, the same day the complaint was lodged.”

An investigation was conducted and found that the complaint had basis, he said in a statement on Facebook on Thursday.

Dr Feisul Idzwan had issued the statement following a post on Facebook uploaded by one Aidid Nawawi Ghazali, who claimed he was traumatised after being beaten up by an medical assistant.

In the post, Aidid Nawawi claimed that he was hit on his back seven times and twice behind his head.

Dr Feisul Idzwan said a letter to Aidid Nawawi to inform him about the investigation was sent on Aug 1.

He added that an independent investigation committee on the incident has also been established and offered counselling services to Aidid Nawawi.
