Lorry driver charged with helping to hide stolen ATM


KUALA LUMPUR: A lorry driver pleaded not guilty in a Ampang Magistrate's Court to the charge of assisting in the concealment of a stolen Public Gold automatic withdrawal machine (ATM).

Loh Kian Luck, 41, is alleged to have willingly assisted in hiding the machine, owned by Public Gold and reported missing, at a site in the Bukit Angkat Industrial Area at 3pm on Dec 2.

The charge, under Section 414 of the Penal Code, comes with a potential prison sentence of up to seven years, a fine, or both upon conviction.

Magistrate Normaizan Rahim granted Loh bail of RM3,500 with one surety and scheduled Feb 20 for mention for the submission of documents.

Representing the prosecution was Deputy Public Prosecutor Wan Nur Iman Wan Ahmad Afzal, while Loh was represented by lawyer Vinobha Doss, from the National Legal Aid Foundation (YBGK). – Bernama
