Perak tables RM1.52bil budget for 2025

IPOH: Perak has tabled a RM1.52bil budget for next year.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the budget was the highest in the state's history and is a continuation of its plan to develop the state and ensure the prosperity of its people.

Saarani said RM981mil would be for management expenditure while RM538mil would be for development.

"The expenditure for management includes emolument, services and supplies, asset purchase and payments.

"It also takes into consideration the salary hike for civil servants and streamlining of state assemblymen's pension," he said in his speech during the state assembly sitting here on Friday (Nov 29).

"As for development expenditure, which is also the highest in the state's history, it will allow economic growth and for the state to be competitive, in line with the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan," he said.

"The state has forecast revenue of about RM1.4bil to be generated next year, from tax, non-tax revenue and royalty generated from the non-radioactive rare earth element mining industry," he added.
