Tommy’s gunning for wins, but Perak strikers need to be sharper

PETALING JAYA: Perak wingback Tommy Mawat Bada has urged his teammates to be more lethal up front as they target to win their remaining matches to finish in the top five of the Super League.

The Sarawak-born left footer created many chances in his forays down the flanks in the Seladang’s match against Negri Sembilan at the Manjung Stadium last week.

But he was frustrated to see quite a number of goal-scoring opportunities wasted in the 0-0 draw.

“We really should have taken three points in the game against Negri, going by the chances that we created but missed,” lamented Tommy.

“So we have work on our finishing if we intend to win all our remaining games and meet our target of finishing in the top five.’’

Perak, however, will have to wait nearly 30 days before their next match against Kuala Lumpur, followed by Pahang on April 19.

“It’s a long wait and that can be frustrating but we must keep our goal in mind.

‘‘We won’t settle for anything less than a top five position in the league.’’

Perak are currently seventh in the league with 24 points from 21 matches, six points behind fifth-placed Kuching City, who have 30 points.
