Floods: Jitra half marathon on Nov 30 cancelled

ALOR SETAR: The BDB Jitra Half Marathon 2024 scheduled for Saturday (Nov 30) has been cancelled owing to the floods.

Event organiser BDB Leisure Sdn Bhd said in a post on the BDB Challenge Facebook page that severe weather conditions and floods in the Kubang Pasu district and surrounding areas led to the decision.

"This decision was also made following advice from the authorities to prevent any untoward incidents, prioritising safety as our utmost concern," it said Friday (Nov 29).

However, it said the race pack collection scheduled on Friday (Nov 29) will proceed for registered participants.

"BDB would like to extend its deepest gratitude to all participants who supported the BDB Jitra Half Marathon 2024.

"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused," it said.

For further information and inquiries, participants may contact the BDB Leisure representative at 019-4774580 or obtain updates directly from BDB Challenge social media pages.
