Joint operations to combat drug smuggling along Sungai Golok border, says Bukit Aman

SHAH ALAM: Joint operations between the Kelantan Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) and the General Operations Force will be conducted to locate and destroy smuggling lanes along the Sungai Golok border.

Bukit Aman NCID director Comm Datuk Khaw Kok Chin said that orders have been given to the Kelantan NCID to intensify the fight against drug smuggling.

The joint operations will also involve collaboration with border law enforcement agencies and their counterparts across the border.

On Nov 2, a popular modern dikir barat singer from Kelantan was among six Malaysians detained in Thailand for suspected drug possession.

The female singer, in her 30s, was arrested alongside five others at a hotel near Sungai Golok town at about 6am.
