IPOH: The Special Warfare Training Centre at Sungai Udang Camp, Melaka, will conduct VIP escort and covert manoeuvre training in Taiping from Nov 15 to Dec 2.
Taiping OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Nasir Ismail said that throughout the training, which involves 45 individuals, there will be simulated shooting incidents using blank ammunition at designated locations, and certain roads will be temporarily closed.
"Accommodation during the training will be at the Prison Training Centre in Taiping, and the attire will include plainclothes, coveralls, camouflage and casual smart wear.
"The escort personnel will carry firearms (Glock pistols) and long guns (M4 carbines) with each person issued eight blank rounds,” he said in a statement om Thursday night (Nov 14).
The public is advised to cooperate and follow police instructions to ensure the smooth conduct of the training and traffic flow, and not to be alarmed by any incidents or situations during the training.- Bernama
