Motorcyclist killed in collision with car at Klebang Utama


MELAKA: An 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a car driven by a teenager at Klebang Utama here early Monday morning (Nov 11).

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit said both the deceased and the 17-year-old car driver had no valid driving licences.

He identified the deceased as Aliff Ashraaf Khan A.R. Khan from Paya Mengkuang in Bukit Rambai here.

"The deceased who works as a food handler at a night market in Klebang here was killed on the spot due to severe head injuries in the 3.30am accident.

"The teen driver who was unhurt in the mishap was driving the car that belonged to her elder sister," he said.

ACP Christoper Patit said the car driver is a Form Five student at a secondary school here.

He said preliminary investigation revealed that the car driver had beaten the traffic light at the Klebang roundabout before the accident occurred.

He added the accident is probed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
