Johor exco member’s pickup truck stolen in front of his house


KULAI: A pickup truck that belonged to a Johor state executive council member was stolen in front of his house in Taman Sri Sentosa here.

Johor Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor said that the incident occurred at 3.20am on Tuesday (Oct 29).

“Based on the CCTV footage, the culprit took only three minutes to start the vehicle engine without a key.

“There were two individuals in the footage - one is the driver, and the other was wearing a mask and arrived in front of the house using an SUV,” he said when contacted.

He added that the vehicle was parked outside his house during the incident.

Kulai OCPD Supt Tan Seng Lee has confirmed the case and said that a police report has been lodged on the incident.

“The case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code for vehicle theft,” he said.

Earlier, Mohd Jafni posted a picture of a red pickup truck on his Facebook page, seeking help from members of the public for information about the stolen vehicle.
