GISB, the 17th deviant teaching declared banned in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah State Fatwa Council announces that GISB Holding Sdn Bhd's (GISBH) deviant teaching is the 17th banned in Sabah after it was decided that that the teachings, practices, beliefs and beliefs of its congregation members contradicted and deviated from Islamic teachings based on Ahli Sunnah Wal Jama'ah.

"Based on our research, we found that the situation with GISB is similar to the al-Arqam group and Rufaqa' Corporation Sdn Bhd,” said Sabah exco for religious affairs Datuk Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif after the Sabah State Education Fund (TPNS) Handover Ceremony at Menara Kinabalu on Tuesday (Oct 22).

He said the Sabah State Religious Affairs Department (JHEAINS) will work with various authorities in the state.

"We will cooperate with other authorities," he said.

Mohd Arifin, who is also Sabah's Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, said that developments regarding the matter will be shared periodically.

Previously, the Sabah Mufti Office had listed 16 teachings as deviant.
