Cops warn of robbery gang on the prowl in Sepang's Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi area

SEPANG: A gang of armed robbers is believed to be active in the district after two cases of housebreaking were reported in two weeks.

In a statement on Tuesday (Oct 22), acting Sepang OCPD Supt Shan Gopal Krishnan said the incidents were in the Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi area.

The first occurred at around 3.30am on Oct 6, with a family being tied up after the suspects broke into their home through the back door.

“Money, jewellery and personal items were taken,” Supt Shan Gopal said.

The second occurred on Sunday (Oct 20).

A mother and her child were tied up before the suspects ran off with watches, cash and jewellery.

“In both cases, the suspects were said to be foreigners and moved in groups of three or four.

"They would be armed with machetes while wearing masks and dark shirts, and target houses near the jungle," he said.
