Four Malaysians hit jackpot, win RM28.6mil

KUALA LUMPUR: Four Malaysians from different states became instant millionaires after bagging a combined RM28.6mil in jackpot winnings.

During the weekend of October 12 and 13, the lucky quartet from Penang, Johor, Melaka, and Selangor struck gold with the Toto 4D Jackpot 1 and Power Toto 6/55.

On October 12, individuals from Penang, Johor, and Melaka shared a RM23.9mil Toto 4D Jackpot 1 prize.

The winners from Penang and Johor, who purchased a System Play and a standard ticket respectively, each took home RM11,035,121.25.

Meanwhile, the Melaka winner, who played an i-System ticket, won RM1,839,186.85.

The 65-year-old winner from Penang said the winning numbers came to her at her late uncle’s funeral a few months ago.

"I consistently used those numbers and it seems like a parting gift from my uncle," she said.

Her System 7 ticket also earned her an additional RM1,680 in bonus winnings and she added that she plans to place her windfall in a fixed deposit.

A 66-year-old retiree from Johor said that his numbers were inspired by his house and a favourite number.

"I've always bet on these numbers, spending RM50 each draw," he said, adding that he intends to share his luck by giving RM1mil to each of his children and enjoy life with his wife using the remainder.

On October 13, the Selangor winner claimed RM4,688,691 from the Power Toto 6/55 Jackpot with a Lucky Pick ticket.

The 49-year-old finance manager, who picked up the habit during the pandemic, buys tickets for eight draws in advance to avoid frequent trips to the outlet.

He plans to clear his debts and save for his son's future with the winnings.
