Armed gang terrorises family in Klang robbery

SHAH ALAM: A family endured a terrifying ordeal when a gang of 12 armed robbers broke into their home on Jalan Jagong, Pandamaran, in Klang on Thursday (Oct 3).

Klang Selatan OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong said that at around 5am, the suspects, believed to be locals, arrived in two cars. They climbed the wall and forced entry by breaking the grate of the main door.

The robbers, all masked, tied up the three residents before ransacking the three-storey bungalow, stealing cash, deity idols, and jewellery valued at approximately RM600,000.

"One of the occupants managed to call the police at around 6.16am, and a patrol car confirmed that the robbery involved machetes," Cha said in a statement.

The suspects fled the scene in the two cars they arrived in.

A 37-year-old male resident was injured during the robbery, suffering a slash wound to his left shoulder that required four stitches at Pantai Hospital in Klang.

Police are intensifying the search for the suspects and urge anyone with information to contact the nearest police station or call 03-3376 2222.

The case is being investigated under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code. – Bernama
