Penang-bound flight forced to turn back due to smoke in cabin


PETALING JAYA: A Penang-bound flight operated by Firefly was forced to turn back to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang due to smoke in the cabin.

The aircraft - registration number 9M-FYG - was forced to turn back approximately 15 minutes into the flight at a point near Kapar, according to information available on flight tracking website Flightradar 24.

Meanwhile, a video recorded by passenger Harrell Erik Wong has since gone viral; it shows the scene inside the cabin, which had become filled with smoke.
