Cops arrest 15 in anti-vice raid in KL

KUALA LUMPUR: An anti-vice raid led to the arrest of 15 people, including suspected prostitutes, says City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Mohd Razali Mohd Idrus.

He said in a statement on Sunday (Sept 29) that raids were conducted around Kuala Lumpur on Sept 28 following investigations into an online escort website.

"Customers could choose a prostitute through the website, and most of them are not locals. After reservations are made the prostitute would be brought to set hotels by the customer by a transporter. Customers could also book them for private parties," he said.

Prices ranged from around RM400 per hour to RM1,700 for 11 hours.

A total of 15 people, aged between 21 and 47 years old, were arrested including 11 foreign women.

The remaining four were locals that are believed to be the transporters.

"All have been remanded for further investigations," he said.
