Ignition coil check: Bomba saves the day after snake slithers into car

KOTA KINABALU: Some people can get a bee in their bonnet but for one car owner in Sandakan, it was a case of having a snake under their bonnet.

Firemen had to be called in after a metre-long reptile slithered into the engine compartment of a car in front of the Warisan office at Bandar Letat, Jalan Lintas Utara at around 9am on Friday (Aug 23).

Sandakan fire station chief Severinus Sainkui said they were alerted at 9.23am and a team of eight men rushed to the scene, some 3km away.

“A snake was seen slithering into the car’s engine compartment.

“The reptile was caught with a catcher tool and released into a forest far from the housing area.

"No one was hurt in the incident,” he said, adding that the operation ended at 9.53am.
